Northallerton RUFC enjoy busy summer with tournaments and cricket
With pre-season training already underway for both the senior men's and women's teams at Northallerton Rugby Union Football Club , it's a good moment to look back on what club members have been up to over the summer break.
A highlight was the annual NRUFC touch rugby tournament, which now spans six weeks and includes 15 teams from across North Yorkshire.
The tournament, which is a staple in the local sporting calendar, saw increased participation this year, providing an opportunity for younger players to develop alongside social teams.

The more serious contenders battled it out for the title, prize pot, and bragging rights.
The Borrowby Broncos retained their title from last year.
Elsewhere, the ladies' team eagerly participated in pre-season training under coach Robbo and entered a team in the Ripon RUFC 7s tournament in early July.
They faced local teams, Ripon and Wensleydale, alongside touring teams, the Viper 7s and Filthy Fifths.
In their opening fixture against the hosts, Ripon Bluebelles, Northallerton ladies secured a 5-43 victory, with tries from Ali O'Brien, Trinity Earnshaw, Amy Parker, and Emma Lawson.

The second match against the experienced Viper 7s saw Northallerton defend against a relentless onslaught of attacking play.
Despite a solo try from O'Brien, the match ended 7-52 in favour of the Vipers.
Their last group game against Wensleydale RUFC was a closely fought contest, with a final score of 7-14 to Northallerton, thanks to a decisive try by Gina Fothergill.
The semi-final against the Filthy Fifths ended with a score of Northallerton 0 – Filthy Fifths 41.
Despite the loss, the team thoroughly enjoyed their day and represented the club with pride.
The team expressed their gratitude to Ripon for hosting and to all the supporters who cheered them on.
The club also participated in cricket over the summer, with NRUFCCC providing a way for club members to stay connected through sociable Thursday evening league games.
With renovations at Brompton Lodge, the team played all of their ten league fixtures away from home for the second season running.
Their performance saw an improvement with a whole game won and several close-run scores.

Now, the focus is back on the upcoming rugby season, with pre-season training well underway.
The ladies' first XV has been promoted to NC2 and the men's first XV will again compete in Yorkshire 2.
The club is keen to build fitness levels for the upcoming trials.
